Respuesta de AFS frente al COVID-19

La pandemia de COVID-19 exige una respuesta ágil frente a las realidades que cada día enfrenta cada país. AFS está bien preparada para ejecutar programas de intercambio escolar en el extranjero con un sólido sistema de apoyo y gestión de riesgos, y tenemos la suerte de haber sentado las bases para un cambio transformador mucho antes de COVID-19.

Los programas de AFS se ejecutarán en países donde las condiciones de salud y seguridad lo permitan y las visas de estudiantes sean posibles. Observamos la situación en continuo cambio a diario y estamos en contacto muy estrecho con nuestras organizaciones miembros.

Cómo AFS mantiene seguros a sus participantes

Como red global de organizaciones, AFS está siempre reevaluando activamente las condiciones para los programas de estudios en el extranjero, país por país. La seguridad y el bienestar de nuestros participantes siguen siendo nuestra prioridad número uno. Estamos monitoreando de cerca las recomendaciones de salud y viajes de las autoridades, así como también recibimos información de nuestra sólida red de voluntarios en el terreno. Nos comprometemos a ser ágiles y receptivos a las circunstancias a medida que cambian.

Algunos países pueden requerir una fecha de inicio del programa posterior a la planificada originalmente. Además, ya sea por restricciones de seguridad o por un impacto económico persistente, es posible que no podamos ejecutar nuestros programas en todos los países. Si las experiencias planificadas en el extranjero deben cambiar, se lo haremos saber a nuestros participantes tan pronto como podamos. Haremos todo lo posible para ofrecer destinos y programas alternativos.

La seguridad y el bienestar de los participantes siguen siendo nuestra prioridad número uno. Como red global de organizaciones, AFS está reevaluando activamente las condiciones país por país, y continuará haciéndolo durante la duración del programa. Determinaremos qué tan bien AFS puede continuar apoyando a los participantes en el programa en caso de otro brote, y evaluaremos si el programa puede continuar en el mejor interés de la seguridad de los participantes.
